Supervision & Training.

To learn about current clinicians for whom I am providing supervision, please visit the ‘Current Trainees page.

Supervision

I have been supervising graduate students in DBT and other CBT-oriented treatments for over a decade. Presently, I partner with Dr. Erin Miga in providing a DBT practicum, which consists of providing individual DBT and DBT Skills Group, participating in a consultation team, and advanced didactics in DBT that places emphasis upon rehearsing DBT treatment strategies. Our practicum begins each September with the start of the academic year. We aim to conduct interviews for the subsequent cohort of trainees in January and February. If you are interested in receiving DBT training that aims to prepare you for achieving certification by the Linehan Board of Certification, please complete the submission form below.

Consultation and Mentorship

I also provide training in DBT and CBT-oriented treatments to graduates in psychology, mental health counseling, and related disciplines, who require supervision en route to obtaining licensure. As part of this training, I am able to offer mentorship in launching one’s independent psychotherapy business. If you are interested in such training, please complete the submission form below.

Training and community presentations

I am able to provide short-term trainings to groups of clinicians interested in learning or developing greater mastery in delivering DBT. Additionally, I am available to give talks in the community as a means of offering education concerning Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Borderline Personality Disorder, Behavioral Parent Training, treatment of anxiety and depression, and the intersection of Christian belief and mental health challenges. Previous talks I have given include, “Applications of DBT to Peer Mentoring” [for high school students], “Non-Suicidal Self-Injury: Why It Occurs and a DBT-Based Approach to its Treatment,” “Creating a Stabilizing Environment for Interpersonally and Emotionally Dysregulated Counselees” [in a church counseling setting], and “Behavioral Parent Training: Adolescents,” “Effective Use of Parents’ Attention: Promoting Positive Self-image & Behavior”, and “Soul Care Fundamentals” [for lay leaders of men’s support groups].
